Sunday NEWS March 3, 2024

March 3, 2024

March is the month to focus on reading!  Last week we celebrated Read Across America with some special reading activities.  This week and next we begin the IREAD state testing for our 2nd and 3rd graders.  In third grade we transition from learning to read to reading to learn.  It takes all of us together to develop great readers and at home parents can help right from the start by reading aloud to your child.  For more information on the importance of reading to your child (no matter the age!) and some activities to continue your focus as a family on reading, please visit this website….

Track Season coming soon!

Track will be open to any student grades 3-5 interested in running.  The permission slip is due back March 15.  Practices begin April 1 right after spring break.

Car Rider Line

Here are some reminders which will really help in keeping our car rider lines efficient:

  • In the morning only- the line will be directed to pull all the way down past the car rider slots to begin unloading cars.  Please have your child ready to exit your car when you stop along the sidewalk.  Please pull all the way down (even when it is raining).
  • Right turns only allowed.  Please make a right turn into the lot and a right turn leaving the lot.  This helps the flow of traffic for everyone.
  • Reminder that anyone with a student in Prek or Ms. Klink’s classroom should be in the Prek line.  Deliver your other students with your Prek student.  You only need to go through ONE line.

PTO News:

The PTO will be sponsoring a Papa John’s night on Thursday, March 7.  Fliers will be sent home this week and posted on the RIverside PTO Facebook page.
