Riverside provides a positive learning environment for each and every child, helping each student reach his or her fullest potential. Part of our mission at Riverside is to utilize the best practices available to enhance student achievement. Teachers meet weekly to discuss student work and develop new teaching strategies.
Student achievement is enhanced through partnerships with our parents. We host several events throughout the year to foster our partnership and get families involved in their children’s education. We encourage communication with teachers, who can be reached through notes in the student planner, by telephone, or by email. Research shows that parental involvement in school has a tremendous impact on a child’s attitude and success in school.
One of our goals is to see that the parents and guardians of students, like the students themselves, feel comfortable and at home at Riverside. We send our monthly newsletter and calendar home to provide information about changes in our school, student successes, and activities. This handbook is also meant as a guide that includes vital information and is an important communication link between home and school.
Providing children with a positive and challenging academic experience is the primary focus of our staff. We strive to support the whole child – socially, emotionally, and intellectually. We know that together, with you as partners, we are growing the citizens of tomorrow. We care about your children and encourage each to “Be the Best You Can Be” at Riverside Elementary.
