Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7. All parents are asked to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher. Even if it is only a phone conference, we would like to touch base with everyone. Each teacher has sent home their own scheduling form or sent one electronically. If you have questions, please contact your child’s teacher.
Book Fair News
The Book Fair will take place – October 30 through November 3rd. Our school book fair website: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/res2020
Along with the book fair, we will be collecting funds for our All for Books program. By donating $1, or any loose change, you help us to:
*Purchase books or classroom libraries * give more children greater access to books * help get more kids reading, and kids reading more!
MONDAY – Penny Day
TUESDAY – Nickel Day
WEDNESDAY – Dime Day
THURSDAY – Quarter Day
FRIDAY – Any Money (by noon)

The book fair will be open to parents after the ball game (approx 6PM) on Wednesday this week until 7:15 PM.
Picture Day will be this Friday November 3. Retakes are scheduled for December 1.
Fruit and Vegetable Grant
The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) is a federally assisted program providing free fresh fruits and vegetables to students in participating elementary schools during the school day. The goal of FFVP is to introduce new and different varieties and to increase overall acceptance and consumption of fresh, unprocessed produce among children. FFVP also encourages healthier school environments by promoting nutrition education. Fresh fruits and vegetables will be given to students every Wednesday and Friday afternoon.
Keeping our Students Healthy
Oct. 22 – 28 is National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week. The goal of this awareness campaign is to bring together individuals, organizations, industry, and state, tribal, and local governments to increase lead poisoning prevention awareness in order to reduce childhood exposure to lead. https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/lead/national-lead-poisoning-prevention-week.htm

PTO News
PTO is doing a calendar fundraiser. It runs from Monday, Oct 16 to Friday, Nov. 3. All money and calendars should be returned at this time with student’s name and teacher marked. If you have any questions on it, please contact the PTO: resroadrunnerpto@gmail.com. Kona Ice will be at Riverside Wednesday, November 1 from 5:30-7:30pm during our ball game and beyond. Part of the proceeds from this event come back to support our PTO.
