Sunday NEWS February 27,2022

February 27,2022

Read Across America is this week.  Wednesday, March 3 we encourage everyone to wear a shirt that someone can READ. We will also be having some guest readers and buddy reading happening at school during the day. March is a month to highlight the importance of reading.  We always say the more you read the better reader you become. It really is true!  In addition to your child practicing reading in a just right book every night, it is also important to spend time reading aloud TO your child.  This helps them hear examples of fluency and vocabulary. It also helps build connections to the importance of reading.  We encourage you to spend some extra time reading with your child at home.

Yearbooks: Online ordering is now OPEN! Order your yearbook by visiting https://inter-state.com/YearbookEntry/62416S — Yearbooks are $16 each — Paper order forms will be sent home after Spring Break on April 4th and are due by April 15th. Absence from School: Please be sure you call school to let us know when your child will be absent.  Please do this in the morning before 10:00 if at all possible. We want to have all our students accounted for every day!

Tardies: Any student arriving after 9:00 a.m., or leaving before 3:25 p.m. for any reason will be counted tardy. If a child is tardy, he/she must get a pass from the office before going to class. ALL children arriving after 9:00 a.m. should be brought to the office by whoever brings the child to school to receive a tardy pass.  A student will not be permitted to enter the classroom without a tardy pass from the office.  Time-on-task is very important. All students should be prepared and at school by 9:00 a.m. and remain at school until dismissal at 3:25 p.m.  A staff member will be happy to escort any student to their classroom if necessary.  It is imperative classrooms are not interrupted once the instructional day has begun.

Fastest Class Challenge: Our classes were challenged in PE to the fastest class challenge.  We held a run off last week and would like to say congratulations to our champions….Mrs. Bower’s class!  Mrs. Faith’s class placed 2nd and Mrs. Loran’s 3rd.
